The Department of Neuroradiology provides diagnostic and interventional neuroradiological services to the entire university hospital as well as a network of cooperating hospitals. The department’s main areas of focus are MR imaging in neuro-oncology, multiple sclerosis, stroke, diseases of the peripheral nervous system, dental MRI, and interventional neuroradiology. In addition to clinical CT, ultrasound and 3T MRI, a 9.4T small-animal MRI is available. The Department of Neuroradiology comprises an interdisciplinary team of physicians, scientists, and technical staff which provides clinical care, clinical research as well as translational research. The successful candidate will be responsible for the scientific and administrative work in the field of animal research in the Department of Neuroradiology. The position is initially a one-year fixed-term contract; we aim to extend it if the candidate is suitable. Your Tasks
- In vivo animal experiments as part of endovascular or minimally invasive neuroradiological studies
- In vivo animal experiments in the field of neuro-oncology with the aim of developing new MRI-guided diagnostic procedures
- Independent conduct of in vivo studies within a multidisciplinary team following appropriate training
- Image and data analysis of the studies and publication of the study results
- Administrative and practical support in the care of laboratory animals
Your Profile
- A master’s degree in veterinary medicine, biology, or a comparable scientific discipline
- German at the C2 level or excellent English skills
- Expertise in laboratory animal science (in accordance with Article 23(2) of Directive 2010/63/EU or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience working with mice and rats in academic, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical research environments
- Experience in project coordination and the scientific publication process
